Amelie the Sleepyhead*

Sorry we've been so MIA!  Amelie and I have been very busy with work.  So busy that we've been conking out like logs every night.  Here's a cute little post to tide you over*

There's something magical about sleeping babies.  Here is Amelie the little eskimo passed out in the car.  It looks like she has lip gloss on but that's just Aquaphor to help her chapped lips.

Amelie found her way to the other side of the crib and conked out with her dolls.  Doesn't she look like one of them?  And of course she has Bow-Wow close by, her favorite puppy.

I came into the room to find Amelie decided to use her teddy as a nice comfortable pillow.   There's Bow-Wow in hand.

Happy Music = Happy Feet*

Amelie loooooooves music.  Praise God for that because I prayed very specifically for that.  She loves to bop her feet, her hands and anything she can to the beat of a song.  My husband and I were fortunate to be able to play a lot of instruments and be in a children's choir (together) when we were young but alas, aside from having some deep soul and rhythmn, we are musically challenged.  Our hope lies in Amelie but we wouldn't mind her being a pro golfer either ^-^ We'll see what item she scoops up at her 1st Birthday coming up (too) soon!

Here's her happy feet skee bopping away to some music i was playing for her while she was having breakfast.  She's pretty on beat.

This is a short clip that I happened to catch of Amelie watching one of her favorite videos that our friend let us borrow called Baby Signing Time.  I've been trying to teach her some sign language because I think it makes it so much easier for them to comunicate with us while they can't talk just yet.

Twinkle Toes*

Amelie is growing so fast!  I feel like she's going to just one day get up and start walking on me already.  I call her Speedy Gonzales because when she's doing something naughty like putting dust into her mouth for a taste test and I see her, I say, "Amelie Park!", in a very stern voice and she nitro boosts crawling in the other direction so fast I seriously see a blur.  She's also started cruising and we practice walking with her.  One quirky thing I noticed about her was that instead of standing flat footed, she prefers to stand on her tippy-toes!  What an odd chick huh?  Well then, my mother told me I did the same exact thing so go figure the oddity.

Here are some clips of our Twinkle Toes in action...

She's been DJing like a madwoman on her Leap Frog Learn & Groove Musical Table which helps her develop her leg muscles as well as give me some needed rest from chasing her.  Here are some clips of her bringing the house down and also showing off her signature Twinkle-Toed move.

Here is a nice closeup of her signature move.  I tried to get her to do the moonwalk but she insisted on wanting to show it off on a later post.

Amelie's New Do*

If you knew Amelie since birth, you can remember her awesomely bodacious bona fide mohawk that sported the top of her head for many months.  Here is a brief montage of the fantastical history of her hair to jog your memory.

Since birth, we haven't cut Amelie's hair once except when her grandfather, with the best of intentions, tried to cut the crazy hair around her ears and not tell us but how could we not notice the oddity.  With that said, her womb hair is extremely strong.  I kid you not.  While the little darling was getting her first true haircut by yours truly, one of her hairs, stabbed my thumb.  It was so strong that it splintered my finger at least 2 centimeters deep!

Anyways, Amelie was starting to look like a sheepdog without the help of a barrette or pigtails in hair so I decided I had to take action.  She deserves to see the beauty of the world that our God created clearly, especially being a spankin' brand new person.

I present to you, Amelie's mature new do!

Doesn't she look like Angry Little Asian Girl or the little asian version of Amelie Poulain?

I can picture Amelie being like this when she gets older

Shoes, glorious shoes*

Who doesn't think itty bitty widdy baby shoes aren't cute?!  We all can't resist buying a pair of the cutest booties or mary janes for our friend's/relative's babygirl.  Amelie received many pairs of the cutest shoes ever but alas, she didn't get to wear many of them much because of her cankles.  Do all newborns have cankles or just the really chubby ones?  Her feet would either not go in or the shoes would fall off because they'd slide down the cankles.
The one winner out of all these shoes were the awesome Patagonia Synchilla Booties.  They wrap around Amelie's feet and cankles very comfortably and her feet are now nice and toasty when we go out in frigid temperatures.  Amelie is 10 months and the size smalls fit her really well with more than enough room.  Who knows, maybe she'll be able to wear them again come Autumn.

Here is a little glimpse of Amelie just a while ago showing what she would rather do with the shoes.
